A man who led Osceola deputies on a chase for several minutes, after running a stop sign near Smith Street and Donegan Avenue is now in the Osceola County Jail.
Dennis Greenhaw, who ran the stop sign, refused deputies commands to stop and continued traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Denn John Lane.
Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies deployed a tire deflation device near the intersection of 4300 west Vine Street, which damaged several tires of the Toyota in which Greenhaw was traveling, but the suspect continued on his way. At one point Greenhaw attempted to hit another deputy who was exiting his patrol car.
Greenhaw’s vehicle was eventually stopped on the sidewalk in front of the 7-Eleven at 5101 South Orange Blossom Trail, after a second tire deflation device was deployed.
Upon further investigation, deputies learned that Greenhaw was fleeing because he was on his way to purchase crack cocaine when deputies initiated the traffic stop.
Greenshaw was arrested and charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding law enforcement, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail without bond.
