Lynum Fires Back at Orlando Magazine

Mr. Clark:

I write to share my disappointment with the bigoted propaganda published in your November 2007 magazine.  Referencing my role in a recent lawsuit, your column concludes that “he offered no evidence”, suggesting this lawsuit did not go anywhere.  There is a process in lawsuits called discovery.  My clients are very pleased with their settlement.  You should know these misleading implications are unethical.

Referring to a letter I sent to WDBO, you wrote, “Nothing came of the suit.”  What suit?  You misrepresent my demand letter as a “suit”, implying a lawsuit.  And much did come as a result of my demand letter.  Again, unethical reporting and bigoted propaganda.

The Orlando Weekly at least presented some facts, but your redaction is false and misleading.

Orlando Magazine has been identified for its role in publishing propaganda that spreads false and misleading propaganda.  This is one of many examples identified.  As of recent weeks, some of your local media colleagues have met with the Black elected officials, NAACP, economic and community leaders to understand why you target our Black leadership with this bigoted propaganda?

They have agreed to participate in a forum supported by the local Black Caucus, NAACP, Black Partnership of Florida, Urban League, Circle of Friends, and others.  Our community will not stand anymore for these attacks.  You will be part of the reason Orlando is labeled the next Jena.  But none of us wants this boiling situation here in Orlando to spill over.  So, I invite you to meet with this group and participate in this forum.
