Miguel Goncalves is not only excited to enter his senior year in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Cypress Creek High School, but he has much to be excited about this summer. He has recently been named one of 12 students in the United States to be named a Bezo’s Scholar and will attend the prestigious Aspen Ideas Festival June 26 – July 2.
Miguel was selected, in part, because he is not only an all A student, he is also Drum Major of the award winning Marching Band at Cypress Creek.
Miguel will attend the Aspen Idea’s Festival and will be challenged to return to our community with a seed grant to implement a mini Idea’s Festival here. He will be given training and resources while in Aspen to implement the project here next year. Miguel will be accompanied by Dr. Linda Shaddix who is the Guidance Counselor for the International Baccalaureate Program at Cypress Creek. Dr. Shaddix will assist with the mini Idea’s Festival here.
