Orlando Science Schools (OSS) was recently ranked first in Niche’s 2023 Best Public High Schools in the Orlando Area list for the fourth year in a row. OSS also ranked first in several other categories:
- Best Charter Middle Schools in Florida (out of 335 schools)
- Best Charter High Schools in Florida (out of 150 schools)
- Best Public Middle Schools in Orlando Area (out of 127 schools)
- Best College Prep Public High Schools in Orlando Area (out of 63 schools)
- Best High Schools for Stem in Orlando Area (out of 59 schools)
- Best Charter Middle Schools in Orlando Area (out of 38 schools)
- Best Charter High Schools in Orlando Area (out of 12 schools)
- Most Diverse Public Middle Schools in Orange County (out of 72 schools)
- Most Diverse Public High School in Orange County (out of 45 schools)

Niche is an online tool that provides over 50 million families and students with school reviews, ratings and data tools to determine what school best meets their needs. Every year, the platform releases its K-12 school rankings by evaluating student and parent reviews alongside data that its analysts evaluate throughout the year. Niche grades schools in several areas such as academic achievement, sports, diversity and quality of school administration.
Orlando Science Schools, a public charter school, is approved by the Orange County School Board as an elementary, middle and high school. The mission of OSS is to provide students a well-rounded education with special emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Reading in the light of research-based, proven and innovative instructional methods in a stimulating environment. Orlando Science Schools serves grades K–12.
