Orlando Restaurant Awarded Coveted MICHELIN Star

Knife & Spoon, located at The Ritz-Carlton, Grande Lakes Orlando, has been honored with the recognition of earning one MICHELIN star for the second consecutive year. Chef John Tesar and Chef De Cuisine Tyler Kineman accepted the award on behalf of the Central Florida restaurant at this week’s ceremony in Miami.

Orlando MICHELIN star restaurant - Knife & SpoonKnife & Spoon is situated in the midst of Grande Lakes Orlando’s sprawling Ritz-Carlton property, Knife & Spoon brings elevated steak and seafood to the resort under the leadership of decorated chef, John Tesar.

The Orlando restaurant received its first MICHELIN star honor in 2022. MICHELIN welcomed restaurants in Orlando, Tampa Bay and Miami as part of its inaugural rankings within Florida last year.

Chef Tyler Kineman’s family values know no bounds. With a wife and two young daughters, Chef Tyler finds inspiration in teaching his daughters to chase their dreams, as he did. But his sense of family stretches beyond to the talented staff at Knife & Spoon, of which he helms the team as chef de cuisine.

A 10-year member of the Ritz-Carlton family, Chef Tyler joined Knife & Spoon as Sous Chef in September 2020 as part of the opening team in the thick of the pandemic. In July 2022 Chef Tyler assumed responsibility as chef de cuisine – working at the right hand of Executive Chef John Tesar. Chef Tyler oversees all day-to-day operations at Knife & Spoon.

Knife & Spoon was described by Conde Nast Traveler as “a night to remember, for sure,” and Food & Wine named the restaurant as “a required stop” in Orlando.
