The Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association (FEFPA) presented C.T. Hsu + Associates with the First Place Award for the design of Edgewater High School at the 2013 Architectural Showcase Awards program held recently in Jacksonville at the FEFPA 2013 Winter Conference.

This is the second award presented to the firm for this 408,100 square foot expansion and renovation project located in the historic College Park community of Orlando. The project previously received the Award of Excellence design award in 2012 from the Orlando Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Orlando).

The Edgewater High School project provided one of Orlando’s oldest high school campuses with a modern, livable, and technologically-advanced design. The newly renovated 48-acre campus includes new classroom buildings, all new core facilities including the gym, auditorium, music suite, and the school’s multi-story student commons, and renovated the remaining campus buildings to use as a ninth grade academy.

“We are very excited to be honored with this design award,” said C.T. Hsu, FAIA, President. “We are also very proud to have worked closely with OCPS and the College Park Community to realize their vision.”
