Windy Ridge K-8 students will participate in a “Lemonade at Lunch” fundraiser to help cure pediatric cancer.
Windy Ridge K-8 has teamed up with “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” a national foundation raising money for research to end childhood cancers.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2009, students and staff can purchase a cup of lemonade for $1 with unlimited refills during their lunch period. The money raised will go directly to the cause.
The Fundraiser will take place at Windy Ridge School (K-8) , 3900 Beech Tree Drive, Orlando, FL 32835, from 10:30 a.m. –1:30 p.m.
The fundraiser is sponsored by the Windy Ridge Middle School Junior Beta Club. “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004).
At the age of four, Alex announced that she wanted to open a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. The foundation bearing her name quickly evolved into a national fundraising movement.
The media is welcome to attend the fundraiser.
