The Central Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure recently made over $410,000 in cash awards to ten local grantees in Central Florida.
The money, 75% of which stays in the organization’s nine county area, provides access to breast cancer education, screening, diagnosis, treatment and financial assistance for those who could not otherwise afford it.
Since 1996 the Affiliate has granted over $5.5 million to such programs, through fundraising efforts and the support of the local community.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, and the Central Florida Affiliate is one of 125 Affiliates on the front lines dedicated to ending breast cancer in their communities.
