Kissimmee police have arrested 47-year-old man for an attempted purse snatching.
Police say, around 10:30 a.m., today, Joseph Aviles drove by in the Publix parking lot at 1910 North John Parkway in Kissimmee and attempted to snatch the purse of a woman and drove away.
Witnesses were able to give police a good description of the vehicle and license plate number and a traffic stop was initiated. Aviles, of Kissimmee, was positively identified as the suspect who snatched the victim’s purse.
Aviles, who has a history of robbery by sudden snatching, has been linked to several other cases and was out on inmate release. On this occasion, he refused to cooperate with detectives. Nonetheless Aviles was booked into the Osceola County Jail and is being held on a $1,000 bond.
