Winter Park commissioners voted Monday to prohibit new fast-food restaurants within the city’s shopping and dining district, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
In a 5-0 vote, the City Commission closed a loophole in the ordinance which allowed some fast-food outlets to qualify as “fine dining.”
There was concern that if more franchises such as BurgerFi and Firehouse Subs came into the area, the uniqueness and ambience of Park Avenue would be at risk, the paper also reported.
