A K-9 tracked down a Central Florida aggravated battery suspect hiding in a tree.
This month, Volusia County deputies responded to an aggravated battery incident off Collins Road in the Osteen area, where a woman reported her boyfriend hit her, pointed a gun at her and struck her in the head with the reel end of a fishing pole.
According to local law enforcement, the suspect was not on scene when deputies arrived, but they tracked him down hiding in a tree with the help of the K-9.
The victim had a laceration to her head that was treated on scene. The suspect, Henry Purdue was charged with aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and grand theft firearm, according to law enforcement.
He was in the Volusia County Branch Jail with a bond of $40,000.
