They may be able to turn off their cell phones, but juvenile offenders could be required to wear GPS tracking devices as a means of monitoring their whereabouts in lieu of sending them to detention centers under a measure filed Tuesday in the Florida House.
Rep. Kathleen Passidomo, R-Naples, filed the measure, HB 471, which would allow the courts to order juvenile offenders to be monitored by GPS as part of home detention or community based treatment programs.
