Several thousand teachers are still on the job and 700,000 jobless Floridians have received benefits on account of the stimulus monies.

Governor Charlie Crist, who recently met with heads of state agencies to discuss how the federal dollars were being spent said that, “I think it’s pretty incredible that 26-thousand teachers will continue to be able to work for Florida’s children because of these additional monies and that’s really the point. This is to help people. This is to help education system. To help people with health care needs and it’s the people’s money so they deserve it.”

Florida’s stimulus spending is posted on line.   So far the state has paid out over 534 million stimulus dollars to the Florida’s jobless.
