The man responsible for killing his wife and four children over the week-end, before turning the gun on himself in South Florida, was born in Jamaica.
jamaicaobserver: Police in the South Florida community of Riviera Beach have described Monday’s deadly attack by Patrick Dell, the Jamaican-born man who shot dead his wife and four stepchildren before committing suicide — as the most tragic incident to take place in the city of just 40,000 people.
The police said Dell, 41, who had terrorised his family for years, gunned down his wife Natasha Whyte, her four children — Daniel Barnett,10, Javon Nelson,11, Diane Barnett, 13, and Bryan Barnett, 14, but spared his biological children, ages one and three years, who were also at the house. He then turned the gun on himself. Whyte was also from Jamaica.
