Jade Goody’s husband Jack Tweed has made a plea for his prison curfew tag to be removed so he can spend as much time as possible with his bed-ridden wife before she dies.
“She’s my wife and she needs me by her side,” he reportedly told his probation officers. Jack (21) is out on license after being given an 18-month jail sentence for attacking a teenager with a golf club, and has to return to his mother’s home – a 20 minute drive from his terminally ill wife – every evening.
A source told ‘The Sun’: “Not having her husband with her is causing added upset to Jade. He said he will break the curfew if she starts slipping away — but she doesn’t want him to end up back in prison.
“They have had such a short time together as man and wife. It would be heartbreaking if they were denied this final time together.”
The former Big Brother star (27) was diagnosed with cervical cancer last August and was recently told she may only have weeks to live as the disease had spread. She is currently bed-ridden at her Essex home, where doctors are visiting her, and a bed has been set up in the dining room so she can receive morphine injections.
Jade and Jack tied the knot on Sunday at a country estate near her Essex home.
Brave Jade, who has lost all her hair and is weakened by months of chemotherapy, enjoyed her dream wedding, after which she said she was “ready to go to heaven”.
The couple were allowed to spend their wedding night together after Justice Secretary Jack Straw lifted the 21-year-old’s probation ban for one night.
And the Jade, who summoned all her strength to walk down the aisle unaided on Sunday, is now too exhausted to go to hospital.
A source told the ‘Daily Mirror’: “She knew this was going to happen and that she would be this tired and ill. It was the price she was always going to pay for putting so much into Sunday’s bash. She feels terrible – but wouldn’t change a thing.”
Jade wanted to organise the christening of her sons Bobby (5) and Freddie (4) but is now too weak. Both Jack and his dying wife are hoping that the probation officers will allow them to spend more time together.
Her spokesman said: “Jade would obviously love to have her husband by her side at the moment.”
