Hit and Run Cop Chick ID’ed

A teen who attempted to run down an Orlando police officer and two other women as she left the Roxy Night Club early on Wednesday, has been identified.

Emily Cox

19-year-old Emily Cox remains hospitalized as a result of her injuries sustained during the incident, Orlando police said.   Cox will be charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle, police also said.

Cox, along with two other women were being escorted from the Roxy Night Club on Bennett Road after a fight inside, when she jumped into her vechicle and tried to run them over, according to investigators.

An off-duty officer, Sergio Ramos, attempted to stop Cox from fleeing the area, but that’s when she headed in his direction and tried to run him over, investigators said.

Officer Ramos, a four-year veteran of OPD, then opened fire on the vehicle, striking Cox.

Both Cox and Ramos were taken to local area hospitals for treatment.

Cox remains hospitalized. She will be charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle.

Officer Ramos, currently assigned to the Community Policing Division Parramore Bike Unit, was treated and released from the hospital.

Members of the OPD Internal Affairs Section, Homicide Unit and Florida Department of Law Enforcement are conducting an investigation.
