Here Come the Penguins: Icy World Opening in Orlando

Are you ready for a visit to Antarctica? Well, it’s coming to SeaWorld Orlando spring 2013. Visitors will be transported into the icy world of the penguin like never before, on a first-of-its-kind family adventure ride, Empire of the Penguin.

Guests will literally walk among penguins while exploring their colony. Sea World has beefed up staff and exhibits to share amazing facts and special behind-the-scenes looks into what they are calling “the coolest experience ever…and Orlando’s must-see attraction in 2013.”

This marks Sea World’s major expansion to their Orlando theme park experience. Set in the majestic grandeur of the icy South Pole, this first-of-its-kind ride will glide, slide and transport families to the penguins’ surprising world where you can brave a blizzard. At every turn, visitors will be dazzled by ice and lights.

The ride will also feature a mobile simulator platform and a trackless navigation system. This means the ride will offer unpredictability, which Sea World officials hope will mean repeat rides and a new experience each time. The many paths possible on the attraction will take will also offer riders a choice between two levels of intensity. Sea World also hopes their Empire of the Penguin will stand out from other theme parks as cars will interact and “dance” along the ride with each other.

Sea World put itself on the map when it added the roller coaster Manta, standing out from other coasters in Central Florida. The new website launched to promote the ride adds, “It’s an awe-inspiring penguin attraction as only SeaWorld could create.”
