Deputies are investigating a shooting incident which left a man with multiple gunshot wounds and injuries from a traffic accident.
The shooting occurred at a barbershop in the 10100 block on East Colonial Drive just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Deputies say, the suspect, a 32-year-old Hispanic male and former disgruntled employee, arrived at the barbershop armed with a firearm looking for the owner, who wasn’t around.
The barbershop was occupied by multiple clients and workers, when the man arrived, deputies also say. The suspect threatened an employee with a gun, but was unsuccessful in using it. The man then fled out the back door, at which time the occupants secured it.
Witnesses told investigators a shot was heard outside and efforts were then made to secure the front door of the barbershop, as the suspect tried to re-enter. That’s when an employee opened fire on the suspect.
The man then fled unto Colonial Drive where he was struck by a vehicle, investigators said.
Deputies say, none of the shop patrons or employees sustained injuries during the shooting.
The name of the suspect has not been released.
The investigation is continuing.
