Deputies say, a grenade found in a yard on North Fort Christmas Road off East Colonial Drive, has been rendered safe.
The explosive device which was rusted and appeared inoperable, was found around 2:00 p.m., on Saturday at 911 North Fort Christmas Road. At the time, lanes along nearby Llewellyn Road were closed off until the device was rendered safe.
Investigators believe that they have located all the grenades, a statement from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said, although the exact number is unknown.
On Monday, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers said, the area where the grenade was located, is not a former military site.
The incident is still under investigation.
