Goodwill Industries of Central Florida recently announced that it will open three attended donation centers in Lake Mary, Avalon Park and Windermere on March 5. The sites, which will create 12 to 15 jobs, will provide residents in those neighborhoods with convenient locations to donate gently used items and obtain receipts.
“We’re opening these new attended centers to make donating to Goodwill even more accessible for residents,” said Bill Oakley, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Central Florida. “More donations, means more sales at our retail stores – and those profits support our job training programs, which are offered to the community free-of-charge.”
The centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days per week. The Lake Mary is located at 3577 Lake Emma Rd., Suite 151; the Avalon Park center is located at 3520 Avalon Park East Blvd., Suites 4 and 5; and the Windermere site is located at 2910 Maguire Rd., Suite 1003 in Ocoee. All three sites will be open and collecting donations on March 5.
The nonprofit will also open a new retail store and Self-Sufficiency Center in Kissimmee at the end of March.
