A woman who worked as a telemarketer selling time shares in Central Florida, teamed up with her boyfriend in jail to fraudulently use credit cards information obtained from clients purchasing time shares.

Christy Meleah Poppleton, 32, and James Robert Rowland, 38, both of Kissimmee have been charged with two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Osceola County investigators, alerted by Correction officers, began their investigation in June regarding Rowland’s purchases from the commissary using stolen credit cards.

Poppleton, would keep the credit card information she received for clients purchasing time shares and would fraudulently use them to put money into her boyfriend Rowland’s and other inmates commissary accounts in the jail.

Investigators have confirmed three victims, but believe there could be as many as 46.

Poppleton and Rowland could face additional charges.
