Ford Earns $1 billion in 3rd Quarter

Ford Motor Company reported that it earned $997 million in the third quarter ending September 2009, attributing such profits to its solid line up of products.

According to Ford CEO Alan Mulally, “Our solid product lineup is leading the way in all markets.”  He also noted the company made market share gains in Europe and North and South America.

Unlike General Motors Company and Chrysler Group who had to file for Chapter 11 and reorganize, Ford Motor Company was the only major US automaker to avoid bankruptcy during the US recession.
