Florida has four of the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas where key jobs and economic activity are associated with the state’s skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), a just-released analysis finds.
Miami/Fort Lauderdale (#6), Tampa/St.Pete/Clearwater (#14), Orlando/Kissimmee/Sanford (#29), and Jacksonville (#33), are in the top 50 metropolitan areas where jobs and economic activity are associated with Florida’s skilled nursing facilities, according a new Avalere Health analysis released by the Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care, based in Washington, D.C.
As Florida’s second-largest health facility employer, after only hospitals, SNFs generate $11.6 billion in economic activity annually throughout the state, help generate 145,114 jobs and employ 95,000 Floridians.
