Although Florida is still seeing suspected cases of H1N1, better known as swine flu, concerns are easing, as the threat potential appears to be lessening. According to Florida Surgeon General Ana Viamonte Ros, medical authorities are looking more toward the entire swine flu outbreak, seeing to determine why it was so devastating in Mexico.
“We have sent a lot of our federal officials to Mexico, to better understand how this influenza really took hold in Mexico and what was done there,” she said. “We really don’t have a clear picture at this time.”
Viamonte Ros praised health care professionals, who she said deserved much credit for helping to confine the spread of the virus.
