Florida Skin Care Company Reaches Out to Sandy Victims

Thanks to Jennifer Devlin and her Florida-based company, Celtic Complexion, many of the women in the Rockaway region of New York whose homes and personal and family belongings were destroyed by hurricane Sandy are receiving donated skin care products. According to news reports, the Rockaway Peninsula was among the New York communities hit hardest by the storm on including the loss of some 80 homes destroyed by fire.

“I have lived through hurricanes in Florida. When a woman and her family are struggling to recover from this type of disaster, spending time or money caring for the health or appearance of their skin is at the bottom of their priority list,” said Devlin, a Master esthetician whose company produces a range of hand-blended organic skin care products from her own formulas. “I wanted to offer them some assistance in this area.”

After reading about the Rockaway situation, Devlin reached out to her customers through her website and her online newsletter, and committed to donate $10,000 worth of skin care products to the women of Rockaway. To raise the funds to produce these products, customers were offered a deep discount for purchasing products immediately through a special web site coupon designated as “Sandy.”

Devlin reached her goal, raising a sufficient amount to produce and donate 200 two-ounce jars of Celtic Complexion Creme. “I selected this product because it is winter in the Northeast, and it was formulated as a cold weather moisturizer. Of course a moisturizer is not going to compensate for the trauma these women have faced, but I wanted them to at least have a luxurious spa experience for the one minute they spend applying it and it will help them maintain their skin.”

She noted that because each application requires only an amount equal to a small pearl, the two ounce jar the women receive will last for some time.

To help distribute the product, Devlin was directed to Rockaway WISH (Women Inspired to Help and Support) which is spearheading an effort to raise funds and assistance for Sandy victims. The 200 jars of Celtic Complexion Creme were sent to the organization this week for distribution to local women.

Celtic Complexion is a luxury organic skin care company that specializes in sensitive, dry skin including rosacea. Each formula is hand blended to order by Master esthetician Jennifer Devlin. For more information, visit www.CelticComplexion.com
