Florida Senator Visits MacDill Air Force Base Special Operations Command

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio visited U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.




The Republican Florida Senator met with MacDill command staff to discuss issues facing service members stationed at the base, including housing, security, and forever chemicals.

Senator Rubio met with General Bryan Fenton, Commander of USSOCOM, and Command Sergeant Major Shane Shorter, Command Senior Enlisted Leader of USSOCOM.

He also talked about the history of USSCOM with MacDill Leadership and signed the guest book at USSOCOM.

Team MacDill includes 28 associate units from all branches of service to include U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, and the 927th Air Refueling Wing. The presence of these two unified commands and other Mission Teammates creates a unique multi-service community at MacDill, with all branches of service represented. So, although MacDill is an Air Force Base, it is also home to many soldiers, sailors, Marines and coast guardsman.
