14-Year-Old Arrested for Shooting 16-Year-Old in Central Florida

Tampa Police have arrested a 14-year-old male in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old male in Central Florida.




In the middle of the afternoon, police officers responded to the 8600 block of N Armenia Ave following a report of a juvenile who had been shot.

Witnesses on scene advised the incident happened following a fight near a bus stop on Armenia.

Police officers retrieved video that captured the incident showing the suspect chasing the victim with a firearm in his hand.

According to local law enforcement, the suspect was later identified as 14-year-old Scott Decerant.

Decerant is charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony with a Weapon (Firearm)
  • Attempted Murder in the First-Degree, (Premeditated/Firearm)
  • Aggravated Battery with Great Bodily Harm or Deadly Weapon (Firearm)
  • Carrying Concealed Firearm
  • Minor in Possession of a Firearm
