Florida Senator Marco Rubio has made an endorsement in the race between hometown Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump in the Republican presidential primary.
Senator Marco Rubio endorsed Donald Trump for President in a statement Sunday.
“When Trump was in WH I achieved major policies I had worked on for years (like expanded Child Tax Credit & tough sanctions on regime in Cuba & Venezuela) because we had a President who didn’t cave to special interests or let bureaucrats block us,” Senator Rubio said in a statement. “I support Trump because that kind of leadership is the ONLY way we will get the extraordinary actions needed to fix the disaster Biden has created.”
It’s another political blow to Gov. DeSantis, and the former President must love this latest Florida endorsement. Especially if Republicans remember the “Little Marco” politics between Trump and Rubio.
Some believe Rubio is making a calculated and strategic move, as DeSantis is a longterm opponent of his in Republican politics post-Trump. But others say the writing is on the wall and the real target is Democratic President Joe Biden.
“It’s time to get on with the work of beating Biden & saving America,” Sen. Rubio added.
