At the political fiesta, Maxwell Frost was set to debut his salsa band, La Orquesta Yeya, named after his late grandmother. “Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you,” the Orlando Democratic Representative said.

He has also previously hosted the MadSoul Fest, a music festival in Orlando that blended his politics with his love of music.

Rep. Maxwell Frost is an outspoken progressive who routinely takes on Republicans like President Donald Trump, Governor Ron DeSantis and many others. He came to Congress to champion gun safety, but he has become a rising influence in the Democratic Party. He serves in Democratic party leadership as a co-chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee where he helps shape the party’s messaging, focusing on aggressive opposition, economic, and social justice.

“It’s clear that the extremists are hurting Floridians,” Rep. Maxwell Frost said on his congressional site. “We’ll continue introducing legislation that transforms lives, bringing back federal money to uplift underserved communities in Central Florida and assisting you in cutting through government red tape. We’ll continue working with you and for you in Congress and back home in the district.”

Rep. Robert Garcia, who Rep. Frost called “my good friend and colleague,” was announced as a featured guest for the Central Florida event as a “strong partner in this fight and a powerful voice in Congress.” The California Democrat serves as the Ranking Member on the House Oversight Committee.
