Claim forms are being sent out to more than 167,0000 Florida residents who lost their home to foreclosure between 2008 and 2011 who may be eligible for payment under a national settlement, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Monday.
The nation’s five largest mortgage servicers, Ally/GMAC, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo, agreed to the $25 billion national settlement to settle charges the servicers routinely signed foreclosure related documents, outside the presence of a notary and without knowing whether the facts they contained were correct.
