Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced a lawsuit on sanctuary policies against Gavin Newsom and California in the U.S. Supreme Court.
The state of Florida said it will “fight for American sovereignty and end California’s love affair with illegal aliens.”
Florida said it is striking back against dangerous policies from Democrats like Governor Newsom. The Florida Attorney General will argue in the U.S. Supreme Court that California’s sanctuary policies are having a detrimental impact on Floridians and leading to increased costs on taxpayers and unnecessary, tragic deaths.
In addition to the AG blaming former Democratic President Joe Biden’s border policies, the Republican Florida AG stated that California’s sanctuary policies are “deadly.”
He referenced California handing out driver’s licenses and other benefits to encourage illegal immigration, providing the illegal u-turn truck driver who was arrested for vehicular homicide in Florida as an example.
Florida’s goal with the lawsuit is to end California’s sanctuary policies, something Democrats will likely not allow to happen.
