A man was killed on I-95 on Saturday, as he worked on his disabled vehicle in the emergency lane, Florida Highway Patrol said.
48-year-old Randolph Oller of Melbourne, was pronounced dead on spot on I-95 near mile marker 206 (Cocoa), after the rear tire of a semi truck struck him, when he fell directly in front of the tractor trailer.
Troopers said, Oller was working on his disabled vehicle on the east should of I-95, when for an unknown reason, he fell into the outside lane and was struck by the rear wheel of the semi.
The driver of the semi, Jesus Rodriguez, 35, of Hallandale, was not injured. Rodriguez was traveling north on the I-95, in the outside lane around 4:30 p.m., when the accident occurred.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, troopers said.
