A high speed crash on I-4 early on Monday morning, left the driver of an SUV dead and a passenger in critical condition. Another passenger in the vehicle also suffered serious injuries, while two other sustained minor injuries.
The crash occurred around 3:00 a.m., in Osceola County.
Troopers said, the unnamed 25-year-old male, traveling westbound on I-4, was attempting to exit onto US 192 eastbound at a high rate of speed, when he lost control.
The SUV struck a guardrail, overturned and the driver was ejected, troopers said. The man was pronounced dead on the scene by the medical examiner.
A passenger in the SUV, Manuel Fernandez Mata, who sustained serious injuries, fled the scene on foot, troopers said. Osceola County deputies found Mata later and he was flown to the Orlando Regional Medical Center for medical treatment.
A second passenger, Yonathan Maramaolejos, 23, was transported to ORMC in critical condition.
Two other passengers in the SUV, 20-year-old Zulika Diaz and 22-year-old Iliana Velasquez sustained minor injuries and were taken to local area hsopitals.
It is not known yet whether alcohol played a role in the crash.
The name of the deceased driver has not yet been released.
Troopers said, the crash remains under investigation.
