Orlando police are continuing to investigate a double murder in Lake Nona on Sunday night.
Police say, a call was received just after 7:15 p.m., in reference to a shooting in the 8400 block on Northlake Parkway in the Watersedge subdivision.
Deputies surrounded the home, but that’s when they saw a man exiting the rear door of the residence. The man was ordered to drop his weapon, but refused.
A spokesperson for OPD said, one of the officers opened fire, shooting the suspect, because he wasn’t obeying orders to drop his weapon and get on the ground.
Inside the residence investigators found two women deceased.
According to several news reports, one of the deceased women is the suspect’s wife. The other is the suspect’s mother-in-law.
Two children were also found inside the home. They were not hurt.
The investigation is ongoing.
