FDLE to Host Stolen Jewelry Showing

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will host a showing of stolen jewelry recovered following a multi-agency investigation of a high-end burglary ring dubbed the “Dinner Set Crew.”  Six individuals were arrested in June for a series of residential burglaries in south Florida. In each incident, the suspects entered a home, typically through a rear sliding glass door, and stole expensive jewelry and other high-value items. Authorities estimate that the value of the jewelry stolen totaled more than $2 million.

During the showing, the recovered jewelry will be available for the media to photograph and film before it is returned to the victims.  In addition, agents involved with the investigation will be available for interviews.

The following individuals were convicted of: racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, burglary, theft, dealing in stolen property, money laundering, and witness tampering.  Their sentences were as follows:

  • Emery Lorenzo was sentenced to 10 years with the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by five years of state probation
  • Jose Lorenzo was sentenced to five years with the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by five years of state probation
  • Lazaro Tenreiro was sentenced to six months in the Palm Beach County Jail followed by five years of state probation
  • Kane Lopez was sentenced to two years and three months with the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by five years of state probation
  • Michael Chala was sentenced to one year and one day with the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by five years of state probation; and
  • Silvia Lorenzo-Ordonez was sentenced to nine months in the Palm Beach County Jail, followed by five years of state probation.

The case was prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. FDLE investigated the “Dinner Set Crew” in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Jupiter Police Department, North Miami Beach Police Department, Miami-Dade Police Department, Boca Raton Police Department, and the Miami-Dade State Attorney Office.
