Police have arrested a man in the stabbing death of a 17-year-old youth, after a family feud turned deadly on Thursday, at a home in the Azaela Park area.

26-year-old Michaell Charles Chang is accused of fatally stabbing his half-brother, 17-year-old Marcus Isaias with a knife, after the two argued, Orlando police say.

Investigators learned that Isaias’ twin brother, Xavier Isaias, got into an argument with their uncle Gabriel Perez over keeping their dogs in the home and having to clean up feces and urine.  That’s when Marcus, the deceased, armed himself with a baseball bat and Chang, the accused, armed himself with a knife.

While the investigation is still unfolding and accounts vary, Marcus was stabbed in the chest by Chang, police detectives were able to determine.

Police arrived at the home in the 5500 block of Ira Street around 12:30 p.m., to find Xavier cradling his twin brother, Marcus, in his arms and attempting to staunch the flow of blood from the chest wound.  Marcus was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Police say, initially Xavier, Michaell, and Perez all lied regarding the fatal stabbing of Marcus, saying they were not at home at the time of the incident.  Xavier eventually admitted to lying and told investigators that both Michaell and Marcus confronted each other and Michaell was the person who stabbed him.

Gabriel Perez also changed his account of events and subsequently in a sworn statement told investigators he and Xavier were arguing over the cleaning up of dog feces and urine and a drug deal he had ruined for Xavier.  He also told investigators that Michaell Chang confronted Marcus who had armed himself with a bat and knife, while they all fled the scene.  Pura Perez, another family member present at the time incident was also questioned by police.

Michaell Charles Chang has been charged with second degree murder and was booked into the Orlando County Jail.
