Five members of a Kissimmee family who teamed up to burglarize a residence and stole items valued at $8,000, have been arrested, Kissimmee police said.
Detectives were able to track information attached to an Apple IPAD, one of the items stolen, to the home of 39-year-old Mayra Lopez, one of the five arrested.
Police learned through their investigation that Lopez had teamed up with her sister, Migdalia Lopez, 42, and nephews, 17-year-old Miguel Adorno and 14-year-old Ronald Martinez to burglarize a residence, where a family had been vacationing from Venezuela.
The victims told investigators that, on January 13, they returned from sight-seeing to find a back screen door damaged and the residence burglarized.
After tracing the stolen IPAD to Mayra’s home, detectives learned that her sister, Migdalia was also involved in the burglary. That’s when they went to Migdalia’s home in the 1500 block of Tangelo Circle and recovered more stolen items.
Mayra and Migdalia Lopez told police that the juvenile son’s, Miguel and Ronald, also worked in concert to commit the burglary to 2352 Caravelle Circle. Police say, Feliz Perez, Mayra’s boyfriend enjoyed the proceeds from the theft and took some items for himself.
Mayra Lopez, Migdalia Lopez and Felix Alejandro Perez were charged with grand theft. Miguel Adorno and Ronald Martinez were charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen Property.
The juveniles were transported to the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center. Mayra, Migdalia and Felix were transported to the Osceola County Jail where they are being held on $7,500 bond.
