Expressway Urges Contractors to Register with Small Biz Program

The Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority is encouraging contracting companies to register with the Authority’s Small Sustainable Business Enterprise (SSBE) program, as within the next 90 days construction bids for two projects will be advertised.

Bids will only be considered and accepted from companies that are SSBE eligible, are registered with the Authority, and meet the prequalification requirements described below.

In addition to registration as an SSBE, companies wishing to be considered for award of the contracts identified above must also be prequalified by the Florida Department of Transportation under Administrative Rule 14-22, Florida Administrative Code in the combination of Grading, Drainage and Flexible Paving. Companies who meet the prequalification requirements and want to apply for registration with the Authority as an SSBE are invited to complete and submit an application along with proof of prequalification.

Information on the SSBE program and an application form are available online at www.oocea.com , or by contacting Iranetta Dennis, Director of Business Development, at 407-690-5000. Interested companies can also visit our office located at 4974 ORL Tower Road, Orlando, Florida 32807 to pick up an application.

Applications, together with proof of FDOT prequalification, will be evaluated by the Authority and if approved will be eligible to submit bids when the projects are advertised.
