Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, along with City Commissioners Daisy W. Lynum and Samuel B. Ings and Orlando Police Chief Paul Rooney, will officially open the newly relocated community police office for the southwest section of the City.
The relocation provides a permanent space and expanded community police office to serve the visitors, residents and businesses in the southwest section of the City of Orlando, while increasing response times and police presence in those neighborhoods.
More than 130 patrol officers will be working from the expanded Southwest Community Police Office. The office will offer walk-in community services including fingerprinting, crime prevention education and payment collection. It will also include a community room, which will be available for neighborhood and local business meetings and gatherings.
Since 2006, the Orlando Police Department has bolstered the number of officers on the streets, added new substations throughout the City and invested in tools, training and technology. The Southwest Community Police Office is part of the City’s commitment to public safety.
