Orlando Mayor Buddy has scrapped a proposed 21 percent pay hike and will settle for a 6% increase for himself and city commissioners.
Before the start of the City Council meeting Monday, Dyer said he thought the proposed 21 percent raise “excessive.”
The new proposed 6% increase was presented during the final budget hearing session later on Monday.
Since the City Council first voted on the 21% pay one week ago, Dyer and commissioners have come under increasing pressure, with many calling the increase “outrageous” and “unjustified.”
