A local drug dealer was arrested in a Central Florida overdose death.
33-year-old Daytona Beach fentanyl dealer Trevin Smith was taken into custody on a charge of manslaughter in the April 2025 overdose death of a 34-year-old Ormond Beach woman.
According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s office, Smith was arrested in this case previously, the day after the fatal overdose.
VSO Overdose Task Force detectives found messages on the victim’s phone indicating Smith sold her fentanyl and was offering to sell her more. Shortly after, detectives arrested him after a brief foot chase into an Ormond Beach 7-Eleven.
He was ultimately arrested and taken into custody with no bond on the new manslaughter charge.
