A drug bust in Jacksonville seized a lot of fentanyl, marijuana, and other drugs.
Jacksonville detectives recently removed more than 17 grams of fentanyl, 20 pounds of marijuana and various other drugs from the street after a bust in the Moncrief area.
The investigation began when local detectives noticed drug activity at a house on West 21st Street and Moncrief Road in Jacksonville. The Narcotics Unit detectives continued to investigate, build a case, and establish probable cause for a search according to local law enforcement.
Jacksonville Narcotics Unit detectives and SWAT Team served a search warrant at the house. According to local law enforcement, they found: 17.2 grams of fentanyl (8,600+ potentially deadly doses), 81.8 grams of cathinone, 33.4 grams of methamphetamine, 2.3 grams of heroin, 20.8 pounds of marijuana, a handgun and a rifle, and more than $500 in cash.
As a result of what was found, detectives arrested 42-year-old Carlos Cooper. According to law enforcement, Cooper is a convicted felon with multiple drug charges in his past.
“Do not bring poison into our community,” the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office posted. “If you’re selling dangerous drugs, know our detectives will stop at nothing to find and arrest you.”
