Dr. Phillips High School Competitive Cheerleading team members are on top of the world after a spectacular win at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship Competition held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Feb. 8-9, 2014.
The UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship (NHSCC) is the most prestigious high school cheerleading championship in the country.
In Saturday’s preliminary round, the team earned a top score of 93 which pushed them straight to the championship round. Sunday, the Panthers repeated their best and most difficult performance of the year, setting the bar high with a score of 92.8. That score proved to be the best as the team placed first in Small Varsity Division I. It’s the second time in four years Dr. Phillips has won the division crown and the fifth consecutive year the Panthers have placed in the top three nationally.
