On Thursday, April 26, 2012, Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Orange County Florida, the City of Orlando, the Fair Housing Continuum, Inc., the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Florida Commission on Human Relations will host a Regional Fair Housing Summit entitled, “One Community, Many Faces.”
The one day summit will honor the late Albert Nelson, former Director of the City of Orlando’s Human Relations Office, for his many years of service as a local leader, responding to the needs of Orlando’s diverse communities and a champion for civil rights for all Floridians.
Featured speakers include, John Trasviña, Assistant Secretary Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, HUD and Patrice Alexander Ficklin, Assistant Director, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Workshops will focus on a variety of Fair Housing Act issues and Mortgage Rescue Scams.
