Don’t Be A Victim: VSC Launches Major Sexual Assault Awareness Campaign

sexualassaultfinalToday, Victim Service Center of Central Florida (VSC) has announced the largest awareness campaign in their fifteen year history.

“We will have billboards all over Orange and Osceola Counties during 2015 to ensure that people know where to go to get help when an assault occurs and how bystanders can take action to help prevent sexual violence in our community”, said Lui Damiani, Executive Director of the Victim Service Center.

Through this campaign, the Victim Service Center has developed eight messages targeted to some very specific audiences including the LGBTQ community, college students, military personnel, men and the Spanish speaking population.

Victim Service Center (VSC) is the Certified Rape Crisis Center serving Orange & Osceola Counties and maintains a 24/7 Sexual Assault Hotline staffed by Master-level victim advocates trained in the area of sexual violence and trauma.

“We know that 1 in 5 women will be a victim of sexual assault,” said Shelley Rodgers, Marketing Director of Victim Service Center of Central Florida. “Through this awareness campaign, if victimization occurs, we want those in our community to know where to go for help.”

“VSC is here to support victims in Central Florida,” added Damiani. “This campaign will change lives.”
