Distinguished Judge’s Career Ends In Disbarrment

Former appeals court Judge, Thomas E. Stringer, Sr. was disbarred Thursday by the Supreme Court of Florida, following his guilt plead to lying on a loan application in 2004.

Stringer who had a distinguished career as an attorney was involved in financial dealings with a stripper, Christy Yamanaka, is also accused of fraudulently a obtaining $350,000 mortgage, for a home he purchased in Hawaii with the stripper.

The former appeals court judge had resigned earlier this year from the Court of Appeal when questions were raised concerning his financial dealings with the stripper.

Stringer, 65, was Stetson University’s first black law school graduate and had a sterling record on the bench for over twenty years.

He will be sentenced on November 13.
