Per a recent West Orlando News public records request, Corey F. Knight makes $211,000.80 of base pay on an annualized basis.

According to the records provided by the City of Orlando, the Director of Public Works Department position:

  • Consults with Mayor and Cabinet and participates in the formulation of policy decisions regarding programs within the City of Orlando and in particular those pertaining to the Department.
  • Directs the planning, design, construction of capital improvement projects for the City of Orlando.
  • Oversees the financial requirements of the Department and prepares budgets for operation of the programs in the Department and for capital improvements.
  • Works closely with the financial departments of the City in funding the operational requirements of the Department and the capital improvement programs.
  • Identifies and prioritizes Departmental operating requests and monitors the performance of each operational program.
  • Consults with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and representatives of local, state, and federal agencies regarding major issues and long range plans for public works improvements that involve the City of Orlando.
  • Meets with the Mayor, Cabinet, City Council members, citizens, and media.
  • Serves on various committees and technical boards as appointed by the Mayor or City Council.
  • Meets regularly with the managers of the Department divisions to discuss status of their operations and projects.
  • Plans and directs the vision for public works involvement in the growth aspects of the City of Orlando.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Mayor.
