Digicel Readies for Labor Day

Digicel, the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and recent entrant to Central America, today unveiled details of its Labor Day activities, which include the West Indian Labor Day Parade, IRIE Jamboree, the Guyana Folk Festival, Haiti Bingo night and the finals of the Digicel Caribbean Cup New York.

Kicking off with Haiti Bingo on Thursday, September 3rd, Digicel will be on hand right throughout the Labor Day weekend to support the celebrations with the New York Diaspora community. On Sunday, September 6th, the Digicel-sponsored Guyana Folk Festival is taking place on the corner of Beverly and Ralph in Brooklyn. Customers attending the festival will have an opportunity to visit the Digicel booths to take part in some exciting competitions and giveaways right throughout the day.

Next up is the highly anticipated final of the Digicel Caribbean Cup New York which kicks off at 3 p.m. in the Jefferson High School Stadium at the corner of Flatlands and Sheperd in Brooklyn, New York, with Jamaica and St. Vincent all set to battle it out in what is sure to be a thrilling final.

Moving over to Queens, the Digicel-sponsored IRIE Jamboree kicks off at 2 p.m. with a fantastic lineup of artistes such as Queen Ifrica, Taurus Riley and Sean Paul set to entertain the crowd throughout the day and night. Ending the weekend on a high, on Monday, September 7th, a host of surprise guest artistes will be performing on the Digicel float throughout the West Indian Labor Day Parade. Customers can also visit the Digicel village which will be located on Easter Parkway between Rogers and Beckford.
