A House committee on Thursday narrowly approved a bill (HB 4011) that would repeal the law allowing local communities to use cameras to catch red light runners.
“Is public safety really worth sacrificing all your individual rights?” asked one of the measure’s sponsors, Rep. Carlos Trujillo.
Throughout Orange County, red light cameras keep a watchful eye on drivers at 50 intersections.
