Detectives Seek Suspect Wanted for Second-Degree Murder in Central Florida

Detectives are seeking a suspect wanted for second-degree murder in Central Florida after the shooting death of a DeLand man.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Major Case detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Joel Alonzo-Cisneros with second-degree murder in the December 2023 homicide of Hector Hernandez-Pasquale. His location is unknown at this time, according to law enforcement.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, and they provided an available photo of Cisneros.

Deputies responded to a 911 call last weekend reporting the incident. The caller found the adult male victim unconscious in a front yard on S. Massachusetts Ave., DeLand.

It was determined the victim, 50-year-old Hector Hernandez Pasquale, had been shot. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff’s Office at 386-248-1777, call Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 888-277-TIPS, or submit a tip via the P3 Tips app.
